A recent report highlights several furniture selections aimed at streamlining the modern workplace through improved ergonomics and reduced visual clutter. These items range from modular seating systems to task chairs, all designed to facilitate different modes of work, from focused solo tasks to spontaneous group meetings.

The selection includes the TOT table by Isern Serra for Omelette Editions, a co-working desk featuring a bisected tabletop that conceals a 12-socket power board to manage cables. For seated tasks, the Muku chair by Foster + Partners for Okamura utilizes recycled aluminium and fishing nets for its upholstery, while Alina Schnizler’s WiChair for Wilkhahn incorporates a spring beneath the seat to encourage active sitting.

Modular solutions for open-plan environments are also featured, such as the Pullman Modular system by NaughtOne, which uses high backs to provide sound-dampening and visual seclusion. Similarly, the HUB modular system by Francesco Rota for Lapalma uses an undulating design to create islands of activity within larger spaces.

These pieces reflect a broader trend in office design where the physical environment is shaped to accommodate both the necessity of posture correction and the need for flexible, social workspaces.
